We have put up a few links to sites that we have found and actually have value. While our standards are pretty high, we are only picky to preserve your precious time and prevent you from visiting all of the junk that we have seen!

| The Appalachain Mountain Club. Probably the best known organization on the East coast, the AMC is where most people get their hiking information. This club maintains trails, writes the White Mountain Guide, and has one of the most well-posted message boards. |

Guide to New Hampshire Trails
|
Sort of an on-line White Mountain Guide, this site has a listing of most of the important trails in NH along with brief descriptions. The trail descriptions are bare-bones yet very useful, and they are broken down by region and ability. The site is otherwise pretty well done, dancing bear and all, although apart from the trail descriptions, the content is a little thin. Of all the other sites that have posted links for us, this site has generated more traffic for us than anything else, and for that we are very greatful. Apparently this site is very popular, so if you are looking for basic trail information on a wide variety of trails, check this page out.

Half Assed Expeditions
|
Perhaps one of the funniest sites I have ever come across. The stories of four friends and their lifetime of winter camping adventures in New England. They assault political correctness in the hiking and camping world as happily as they assault the mountains they climb in the winter. A must read for all of us who sometimes take ourselves too seriously, the b.s. flows from this site so thickly, you'd think none of it could possibly be true. But they have pictures! This site is very well written and very funny (although not for the faint of heart).

The White Mountains Information Server
|
The grand-daddy of them all. The oldest and largest site for info on the White Mountains. By now they have accumulated hundreds of photographs and descriptions of trips and sights all over the White Mountains. If we don't have the info, they do.

The Official White Mountain Nat'l Forest Site

This is the official scoop, right from the source! The real Forest Service site. Honestly.
|
The Wonalancet Outdoor Club
|
Their mission: "...for provision and care of paths, trails and other facilities for persons visiting the White Mountain National Forest and other mountain and forest lands; regarding these lands, to promote their conservation and the enforcement of the laws regarding their conservation and use, to promote communication between their owners and the public on these issues, and to promote discussion and education on all these matters..." In short, a great organization to belong to.

|
The Randolph Mountain Club. Their mission: "to promote enjoyment of the Randolph, New Hampshire area through hiking, trail development, upkeep of camps and shelters, and sharing the collective knowledge of its members." |

Another site that dedicates itself to our great state, NewHampshire.com covers all the bases, from Outdoor Recreation (our favorite of course) to dining, business, education, and a thousand other things. Definitely worth a look.

MtMoosilauke.com
|
An interesting site that is run by a small publisher of books in the White Mountains. The site provides a history of the Mt. Moosilauke area and the surrounding towns. A collection of stories, some autobiographical, detail the interesting history of the area. We think that more of the history of the White Mountains should be preserved this way!

Some next door neighbor friends, these guys run a nice site. They sell all manners of gear, including camping and Military surplus gear (which gets the devious side of us excited). They're also willing to answer questions about Vermont in general. Stop by, they're very nice folks. Besides, where else are you going to find Military spec Duct Tape?
