My friend and I started at about 7:30 at the locked gate at the access road and walked the 30 minutes to the trailhead . Conditions were packed snow and 0 Deg F. and not a cloud in the sky. The trail was packed and snow shoes would not have been useful until near the top and even then they were not needed. Poles, however were very helpful!

Views were AWESOME with clear sky and great visibility. As normal in the Whites, the wind was blowing at the summit but the views were worth it. Great winter hike, great views for moderate effort.
